I asked Rad if we could look into the the idea of Jabo's Advanced Options to be used as a "per game" setting in the RDB , rather than the now "enable options" and keep them activated on all games until disabled.
An option to store these "Advanced Settings" in the RDB on a per game basis would be superb, as clearly some games need this from Jabos Plugin.
As Rad quite rightly states, PJ allows game setting related functions in the file, but the main video plugin functions are solely handled by Jabo. Zilmar allowed some minimal stuff for Jabo to access via the RDB, but that was it.
This in a sense could be provide for the plugin but, any time a game is loaded, it would have to be set in the registry for the plugin so that it could be on a per game basis. This however would be enable it to extract the needed information form the RDB / INI except instead of reading an ini, it would be reading from the registry, it would have to be changed each time, so it could be done, but quite frankly shouldn't have to be.
It will have to to be rearranged a bit, , just have to make sure its set before the plugin is initialized.
So basically it is still entered in a game specific basis in RDB, but then injected into the registry each time.
Again It shouldn't have to be done, as it is nasty hack, but if Jabo isn't willing to make an allowance with maybe a new plugin to read/write said information , then this particular alternative avenue may well be worth exploring.
